Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is a bit like Harvest Festival, giving thanks for friends, family and founding fathers and so-on.
In reality it's a lot like Christmas in England and the traditional turkey dinner is identical. There are additions like pumpkin pie (a brown blend of cinnamon cloves and sugar suspended in tasteless pumpkin mush) and pecan pie - a delicious pie with syrupy pecan nuts. Guess which one we are making.
We are starting with English Muffins - popular year-round here but pretty much unknown in England.
We are giving thanks for our recovery after a week of illness afflicting all four of us to varying degrees. I will spare you the messy details.
November has been a month of mild weather after October launched winter with a bang! The next predicted snow is not until a week today on December first.

A new way to get round the lake!
Four more wheels!
In the 50's we used to make these with an orange box (scrounged from the greengrocer) and some old pram wheels - which often outlived the box.
This one was rusting, full of ice and leaves, in a friend's backyard. A can of spray paint for the inside and some air in the tires and we were off!
