HAPPY NEW YEAR

To all my readers. The day will be spent travelling home from
Copenhagen (where even at 6am the fireworks are still going off?) to
Boulder.

You've GOT to be kidding!

On a more serious note!

J sits still for two milliseconds.

Chefs T and J

Wrapping beans in bacon with amazing results.

DK getting his ear chewed!

With his feet clamped together!

More family and flags

With lots of family

Coffee and Cake

A very special T made - layer cake tasting like Tiramisu - with brandy
and crushed macaroons.

Scenes from the best birthday ever.

First the flag flying in the garden especially for me. Well trying to
fly but no wind!

Interesting motorbike

In a museum in Copenhagen.
Comments invited from my unicyclist son, or anybody else, on how to
start, stop and steer the thing.

He loves everybody!

Especially Auntie K.

I love babies!

Especially this one!

Another favorite Grandson

And another party.

Icelandic hat

Perfect for Boulder winters!

And the sun shone!

English Christmas

In Denmark - roast turkey, roast potatoes, Brussels Sprouts.
J wrestles with a drumstick.

W and MKs Tree

With, of course, real candles.

Farmer's hands

Dances on toilets

Real candles

Everywhere in Denmark. Even real candles on the tree and dancing round
and round singing Christmas songs

DK's castoffs!

And a bit if leftover pizza!

Seriously though! My youngest friend

DK with his 23 hours a day brace on.
He seems as happy as any other baby.

Focus and concentration!

Daniel repairing a watch at six months old!

Rare footage!

Copenhagen, blue sky, sunshine in December!

Radhusplatz

Copenhagen Town Hall Square.
On New Year's Eve this becomes a scene of the wildest firework display
I ever saw. People letting off fireworks the size of milk crates which
look and explode like mortars all night. The main target when I was
last watching about four years ago was the hot-dog stand (Pølsen) in
the middle of the square. I await corrections in spelling and other
matters from my Danish readers.

Finally!

WRM gets to meet DKM a lovely contented little boy despite having been
through quite a few trials already in his short, little life.
The big eyes are for real and he fell asleep as I did my
interpretation of Bing Crosby's White Christmas for him.

1,100 UK stations

427 classical music stations
42 bluegrass stations
And more and more.
All I can say is thank you very very much and merry Christmas B and E
and T Nd KP

Early Birthday

Have you ever given a special treat to a dog (or even a child) and
they were so excited about it they didn't know what to do?
That was me when this present arrived for me from Amazon with a card
from B and E. The card hinted strongly that it contained a radio. I
have been looking at it fir a couple of weeks and finally opened it
tonight.
It connects to my wireless Internet in the house and gets 10,000 radio
stations from around the world - not pops, hiss and crackles like the
old short wave but perfect reception of my old favorites BBC Radio 3 &
4.

Negative 18 F in Boulder

-18 F last night which is -28 C! pretty cold but sunny and very dry. We have about 6 inches of snow - 15cm
Getting ready to live in thermal underwear in Denmark next week.
I  know I am not up to date with the motorcycles but I am at the present time so I need photos of my current stable which I will work on when this hectic time is over.
Everything will be better in 09!
I can feel another Mexican mutterance in my waters. Watch the other blog channel for further Cancun considerations ( awheywithwords.blogspot.com )

Ten inches of snow

It's already thawing by 10am

Buddha

Sports his/her tallest had of the winter so far.

Big Cake!

fits the table perfectly.

Flat Irons View

The morning sun always seems to shine gold here and reflects off the flat surfaces of the sides of the flatirons making them look like polished gold metal.

Guess what's for lunch

As the chef attacks a thousand dollars worth of Tuna!
See if this prompts more comments than my nude beach photo. I am told
AOL users are warned that my blog is a dangerous site since then - g
didn't even know what it was!

Alcatraz

For those considering the challenge - Alcatraz is the island in the picture - with the long building (the former prison) and the water tower.
A ferry takes you there and you and 900 or so others swim back. Wetsuits are optional - water temperature varies between 60 and 70 F.
I am going home to the snow tomorrow.
Check out the whey - with words! - there are some  signs of life.

San Francisco

The only place I know where the streets go up to the sky

Ben's Chritmas present

If he doesn't tell me what he wants!

More yoga from Mexico

the teacher Dahlia puts us all to shame by the Mexican Caribbean
see that guy in the pink tee shirt 5th one back in the photo? that's me!

I am home again but not for long - we interrupt this motorcycle history to publish a long poem by Oscar Wilde over in  awheywithwords - clickable somewhere here.
look out for a few wrm masterworks over the coming days.
I will be in San Francisco for a while and I'll try to keep you up to speed.
I am seriously considering doing the Alcatraz "sharkfest" swim which is on Saturday August 15, 2009. Anybody want to join me - I did it at 50, 55 and now its time for the 60 year old. Or it will be by then.
All you have to do is swim for 50 minutes or so - 36 minutes if you are as fast as littlewilliam I think.
