This is just around the back of the hotel and W and MK climbed it up and down in 11 hours in their younger days. Cooking classes continue today back to San Francisco tomorrow.

Yosemite National Park is surrounded with sheer rock faces like this
with many waterfalls free-falling top to bottom (see the trouble I
went to not to use the cliché "cascading"?)
The Ahwahnee Hotel, built in 1927 sits, disproportionately massive,
in the middle of these cliffs with it's huge welcoming log fires
smelling like home.
