Hawaiian afterthought

Since my posts from Kauai attracted
Such interest I had one more unique fact about the island for you all.
These wild chickens are everywhere. Supposedly they escaped after a
storm and have been breeding prolifically ever since. You see them by
the roadside, in open-air restaurants and around bins everwhere.any of
them just plain but I found a couple of fancy ones especially for my
world readership.

Hydrangeas

Looking very good

Home Again

It seems one can't leave a house for a few days summer or winter
without returning to problems.
In winter burst pipes and in summer dead lawn.
The strange thing is that it gets watered every morning. I think it is
growing hydroponically - which I think means without soil. So it is
probably sitting in a bed of ash where the dead patches are and needs
extra extra water.

Red soil

Under green land

Wild goats

Thats what the black dots are.

How green is my valley?

Flying so low you had to look up.

On my way for an early salt swim

first my nose chanced upon and then I saw

Early morning pig

At 7 am its put on the burning charcoal, covered I banana leaves and
burried in sand.
By 7 pm it is delicious tender Kahlua Pork - usually eaten at a Luau
(fake tradition of Hawaii for tourists.

Fish Restaurant

These were right next to the table at dinner last night and when I
threw them some bread they messages their friends and the numbers grew
fast.
They were piled on top of each other.
I am hoping for a helicopter ride later today weather permitting.

First I saw this

then this

A novel "roll"

Actually a slice of bread cut thick enough to stand on edge then
toasted and slit 3/4 of the way through, buttered and stuffed with
excellent, seasoned lobster.

Very tender and juicy

I suppose due to the cholesterol and heavy metals.

The great grey Pacific

Half Moon Bay on the California shore on the "Peninsula" just south of
San Francisco. This place is famous for fog, especially in Summer.
Heading a couple of thousand miles into the middle of the Pacific
tomorrow, hoping for blue and a chance to take my coat off.

Another day

Another art gallery (art museum in the US)
The corpse of the culture  vulture twitched again today. I have tried to post the last first  - but a wagging finger just told me "no photo" I think he gets paid by the Boring Blog Prevention Brigade.
I was at Frida's house in Mexico City last November but most of my modest mite of knowledge came from the movie which I just wrote about but you haven't read yet.
Friday was seriously injured in a bus accident and many of her paintings express her pain and suffering after this. She was also involved with Leon Trotsky who fled to Mexico and was assasinated there. Anti communist feelings in the US caused murals by Frida's husband Diego Rivera to be discontinued and removed from
Public buildings in the US.

Self Portrait

Diego Rivera

Painted by Frida. If you haven't seen the movie "Frida", with Frida
played by Selma Hyek (my entry for the best looking woman in the
world) you should!

Reverse blogging

The thing you have to remember is that I can only post photos and a
subject and the last thing I post appears first to you, my vast
readership. Anyway I was dragged around this Dale Chihuli glass
exhibit in the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park in SanFrancisco. I
should learn to hold back on the introduction to a series of blogs but
I never know when the last one will be until the next morning.
Enough rambling! This is starting to sound like a Ringsted blog but
with a less interesting theme.

Apricots!

Littlewilliam is correct.
By consultation with the learned Google and tasting one, last night,
there seems no doubt they are apricots. Nice ones too.

The Burdens of the Blogger

Here are the other ice skating photos I promised you.
As to paying to fall over in cold dirty water - as W commented - it is a LOT cheaper than skiing - which could be similarly described -  and this was crisp ice with no water and in the open air
 on a warm evening.
There are few enough sporting type activities I can actually just-about do and skating without falling over is one, cycling and swimming completes the list for me. I took both W and B skating a few times - M once in Solihull and I never saw her so frightened. I also took j,d,t and p - all aj's sons too once, which they reminded me of the last time I met them - most likely at B and E's wedding.
So to the subject of the title. As a blogger I am burdened with a constant guilt over not having blogged for a day or so - like as sort of literary constipation.
I get gentle reminders from the father of this suite of blogs and wonder if people like B have any feelings of guilt at all about their prolonged absences?
Off to San Francisco Hawaii (Kauai) for a few days on Friday so you will have to put up with Iphone postings (if you are lucky and it works there)

Breckenridge - an old ski resort

Three thousand feet higher than Boulder and refreshingly cooler on Sunday - 60's instead of 90's - remember F=C*9/5 + 32. You can substitute for C if you want to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius.

The first to comment with conversions will receive my gratitude.

Returning from our weekend getaway

The Loveland Pass was a lot like the Rocky Mountain National Park - which avid readers will remember from my motorcycle jaunt last summer. This pass did not have a conveyor belt of nose-to-tail traffic though and you don't have to pay to get in.
