Happy Birthday Mette Kathrine

Finally celebrated MY birthday up the mountain at the Flagstaff House last Friday under these fabulous Danish lamps.
For the uninitiated the gold one is an "Artichoke Lamp" and the other one is the one famous for being over Tina and Bent's (Mette Kathrine's parents in Soro) dining table.
The other view is the rising moon, which looked a lot better than the photo suggests.
Dinner was a Buffalo Wellington - strangely designed with the pate in the centre and the meat around it with brioche round the outside. Not nearly as juicy as the more traditional beef filet en-crout type wellington. Better than the namesake rubber boot though.
We had a Cabernet Sauvignon version of Amarone from Italy which was very nice. I did not know that the grapes are dried before they make Amarone from them. I am sure Bent knew though. This was a 2001 Inama Bradisimo Veneto Rosso and I highly recommend it.

Comments:
I didn't know about the dried grapes either but MK did. The Bent and Tina lamp is not quite the same as theirs, they have a fancier one, that is the same as the 3 or 4 in our house and 2 in Karen and Lars' house.
I made pork wellington last week...
