Scrum

Here is what I found in the course of my work on Saturday. 60's plumbing. Just before the dawn of the throw away age. I do a lot of work in a big apartment building with rotting plumbing like this as well as Aluminum wiring, which has its own set of problems. I did my first plumbing in the 60's and there was no plastic or Teflon tape involved.
To get to the subject/title we all read each other's blogs and my wife was reading little William's and asked what scrum was.
I did my best - a circle of guys kind of locked at the shoulders, somebody puts the ball in and they all try to get it.
I watched w play rugby quite a few times and never understood much.
When I read the blog myself and saw the scrum-master comments I turned, in my suspicion to Google. I told L that everything I had said was wrong and that it was some form of project management technique.
As for the the bulgar, well we eat it sometimes but I assume it was a spoonerism/double entendre for a common English swear word, not used here except to refer to things that come out of noses.

Comments:
Another perfectly good word in previous common usage bulgard by the supposed intelligencia!
