Mayday?
I stayed at the Universal Studios in Orlando - they have that sort of stuff all over the place - looking very real.
The weather is warming up even here in Boulder - I am trying not to be seduced into thinking that spring has in any way sprung. I am feeling more like blogging though - for those of my readers who have not given up!

Happy Birthday Elaine February 25th
Home again
after a slight overshooting of the runway!
The solution was to become williamrmillard@gmail.com since iphones don't like hotmail or yahoomail.
I am considering dumping hotmail - it has become irritating and slow lately and was never convenient on mobile devices.
Thoughts?
other than my non-existent airmiles!
Winter Paradise
Finally
after many frustrating hours of trying hotmail, yahoomail
here are are the pictures I was trying to send you from Orlando

Valentine's Snow Watch
Happy Valentine's day to all the women in my life!Yesterday's view of William's attempted snowman from Christmas
Today it is more difficult to see because of six inches or so of the new stuff.
Buddha puts a brave face on it.
As to how many watches anyone needs - speaking for myself - as many as I can get my hands on!
Kuala Lumpur, capital (or is it --ol) of Malaysia is something of a world watch center - large shops devoted to single expensive brands - Hermes, Rolex, Omega, Bulgari, Cartier, Bell and Ross, Baume and Mercier, Frank Muhler, IWC, Shaffhausen to name but a few. These are not night market stalls - but fancy shops in a glitzy mall. There is no tax on watches in Malaysia so it is a good place to buy them.
Skiing - well I had a good lesson - my third - and the third set of different instructions as to what to do. No falls but still hurting from the last one.
Probably going skiing alone again tomorrow.

Watch for updates
This is the original strap that came on the watch
This is an 8 year old Raymond Weil with a lime colored dial. I bought on Craigslist for my birthday
A ceramic Rado with a tungsten carbide strap from ebay
unbelievably cheap I think because it is not black
This is a real Andy Warhol painting in someone's house I went to the other day.

Tuesday Ski Day
With far too much confidence I climbed on this chair lift
Enjoyed the blue sky and my orange skis
Fell over getting off the lift and fell over big time on the way down. Felt like a dislocated shoulder but then it located itself again.
I returned to the MORE junior slopes and skiid the slope where I fell over so much the day of my first lesson. I did not fall over on it today.
Now I am home I don't seem to be able to put my right arm above shoulder height. I can only swim breast stroke.
I have arranged a lesson for next Tuesday - and that's the news. Sorry it's all ski ski ski.
I did get a Barbie Watch in the Frosted Mini Wheats if anybody wants it?

Supercooled Liquids
The center (centre) bottle was almost full and frozen solid - the other two were not full and not frozen at all. I picked one of the, still-liquid, ones up and shook it - it froze instantly - then I picked the other one up and the same thing happened! By the time I had driven 80 miles and took this pic they had melted again and further shaking had no effect - Comments involving traces of saliva, the inclusion of cold air by shaking etc. will be interesting.
This is my $329 midweek season pass for the ski resort! - each trip would otherwise cost $59 for a lift pass so I consider it a barg. I can just drive up there, ski, and come home without lining up for anything except, possibly a hamburger - and they are cheaper for we season-pass types too!
All I have to do now is learn how to ski!

Friday Night Blog
Served here with home made Spaetzle - Jamie suggested rice but it doesn't seem very Eastern-European. Yes I know it is more healthy!
Washed down with an 02 California Cabernet very nice dinner.
Next time I will try G's recipe for dumplings (I just typed G's dumplings but I saw a thousand double entendres) - Suet is not obtainable here though except as bird food.
Plenty of snow at Eldora - my local ski resort - 35 minutes up the mountain from here.
Scenery you wanted well here it is! - 5 fresh inches overnight - it was very windy in Boulder this morning - I climbed 4,000 feet and there was no wind!
Below is my private changing room - note the skis but don't tell M!
Cost about the same as the boots - the cost of a few rentals but each rental and return takes a lot of time - lining up and filling in silly forms. I can just get in the car and head home now. Almost ready for the next most expensive lift ticket - from $7 to $21.
